Overview
The Longpigs were a British alternate rock band.They released a few singles initialy including “Happy Again” and “She Said” which never really broke through. Fortunately their 4th single that was released, “Far” broke into the top 40. They then released “On & On” which went into the top 20 singles and got a lot of radio time.The Band then released their debut album “The Sun Is Often Out” which reached Number 26 in the charts.The Longpigs then went on an American tour in 1997 and also played at Glastonbury.They Released “Mobile Home” their second album in 1999 shortly after Dee Boyle Left the band and in 2000 their label Mother Records folded.The band officially broke up soon after.
Hunt has worked as a songwriter and/or record producer for Ellie Goulding, Penguin Prison, Midnight Lion, Florence and The Machine, Newton Faulkner, and Cee-Lo Green to name a few.
Hawley currently enjoys a successful solo career. His fourth solo album Coles Corner was nominated for the 2006 Nationwide Mercury Prize, eventually losing out to fellow Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys. Hawley has also worked with Jarvis Cocker in the electro group Relaxed Muscle. Simon Stafford has also played as part of Jarvis Cocker's backing band on his solo endeavours.
